Most Anticipated 2018 Releases Part 2 Because Someone Didn’t Research Well Enough For Part 1 And Is Now Crying In The Corner

Yes, that’s the title. Just let me live, would you, Mom? Geez.

I know, I know. I already did a 2018 Releases I Would Sell My Firstborn For (I’m really rocking my titles, aren’t I) post on my blog  but then I discovered so many more books which I cannot not add. A blogger’s life is hard, okay? We have so much more to do on a daily basis like devour souls, cry because Life Happened and then drown in our own puddle of salty tears. Other than that, it’s going GREAT, thanks for asking.

Just so you know, this post killed me a little bit inside because my perfectionist nature absolutely loathed two parts of the same topic but I’m still making this because #YOLO. Also, it’s not my fault that 2018 is turning out to be such a great year in terms of books (because, let’s be real, the rest of my normal life is just a pile of ash) so #BlameTheAuthors #BlameTheBookGods #I’mGoingToStopMakingHashTagsNow.

2018 Anticipated Book Releases

1. A Thousand Perfect Notes by C.G. Drews

This was a completely unexpected book for me because I only discovered the author, Cait’s blog- paperfury– this year and CAN I JUST SAY THAT IT’S AMAZING? I mean, it’s FUNNY? BOOKISH? AESTHETIC? THERE ARE LOTS OF MENTIONS OF CAKE AND DRAGONS? (the essentials for a happy life amirite). I kind of went on a Blog Binge read through and I came out with two revelations- 1). Cait is Queen and 2). Queen has a book coming out.

A Thousand Perfect Notes is this beautiful heartbreaking story about music, abuse and the power of hope. And I need to rEaD iT. It comes out on June 7th, 2018.

2. An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green

Something else that I’ve discovered in the past few months is vlogbrothers, a YouTube channel co-run by John Green and his brother, Hank Green. I don’t even know how I never bothered to check them out before but now that I have- and if you know what I’m talking about- you’ll know why I’m so hyped for Hank’s debut. The synopsis sounds really interesting, although I’d read Hank’s book just because it’s Hank’s book. Duh. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Hank is interesting. Both John and Hank are intelligent, smart, funny, witty but interesting. So, I’m intrigued to learn what his voice would sound like in An Absolutely Remarkable Thing.

And, Hank, I’ll see you in my Favorite Authors list. DFTBA.

3. Leah On The Offbeat by Becky Albertalli

People Who Don’t Know What I’m Talking About: I’m normal, really. I’m a totally rational, mature person who’s mildly excited for the release of this one random book haha. Go have tea and biscuits while I maturely express my mild hype for this book.

To everyone who has read Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda: RIGHT?? I. KNOW. RIGHT?? ASDFGHJKL WHAT THE BLOODY HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO EVEN DO WITH THE FRICKIN WAIT????!?!?!!! SELL OUR SOULS? KIDNAP AND THREATEN PEOPLE??? EAT PIZZA??? iM DyINg hErE.

How amazing is the cover, huh? We need more diverse body type rep on YA covers. This is what I’m talking about. Also, we get to see more of Simon and Blue in this book and AHHHHHHHHHHHHH. *Runs into a wall*

Leah On The Offbeat comes out on April 24th, 2018.

4. Royals by Rachel Hawkins

I love Rachel Hawkins’ characters and snark and book plots. Hex Hall is one of my favorite trilogies because the books are downright fun. The narration is hilarious, the romance is always sassy and intriguing and the characters are incredibly likable (the word, “likable” doesn’t even look like a word to me. Is it a word? IT LOOKS SO WEIRD). Royals seems like just the kind of book the light hearted, popcorn stocked and fluffy romance craving nerd in me needs.

It comes out on May 1st, 2018.

5. Heart Of Iron by Ashley Poston

Reasons Why I’m Hyped AF For Heart Of Iron

  1. I just read Geekerella (here’s my book talk) and I’m already a fan of Ashley Poston. I’m interested to see how her voice/narration will change now that we’re talking about SciFi Fantasy.
  2. I’ve been told that it’s perfect for fans of Starflight by Melissa Landers and I loved Starflight. I actually get the same vibes from this book too.
  3. I’m trash for “enemy fugitives on the run together” trope. I’m downright trash for it.
  4. The synopsis sounds absolutely bomb. It sounds like a thrilling mix of Cinder and Starflight with all the right tropes.

Heart Of Iron comes out on February 27th, 2018.
